If you teach them to color eggs and visit with bunnies for picture taking, no matter what else you say to them, they will identify with these idols as what easter is. If you don't believe me, go and ask them. Ask them one question, "when I say easter to you what comes to mind?"
Do not take for granted that it is only tradition and when they are older I will tell the deal, teach them now while they are still young and impressionable what this season is all about more important Who this season is about. Don't allow traditions to cause you and your family to worship false idols, know that this is having other gods.
Do not take their minds off of Christ and fill it with so many other things that they cannot retain Christ especially in the most important season of all: Even as children they need to know the unconditional love of Christ.
